Gena is a teen computer prodigy with no real friends, no real future, and no one to look out for her but a pill-addicted mother. So she ignores the lousy world outside and builds LANA, a highly advanced robot, to be her cool new friend. But like many robots (and many cool new friends), LANA eventually gets out of hand, forcing Gena to confront real life.
